How to Motivate Yourself to Stay Fit and Healthy

Fitness and health are the most valuable bounties of this life, desired by everybody. But you don't receive them in inheritance-you have to work towards them! Consciously, consistently, and wholeheartedly! Being fit and healthy is not a matter of how many resources you have, but how much effort you put into the process of achieving them!

And efforts come with only one thing-MOTIVATION!

If you're not motivated to gain/lose weight, no matter how many nutritionists you consult, how many diet plans you garner, it just won't work! You'll find yourself in a vicious loop of trying and failing, eventually causing you to give up on your goal of being healthy and fit. Relatable?

Here is what you can do to motivate yourself to stay fit and healthy:

  1. Take One Day At A Time

Many people tend to lose motivation because they look at the bigger picture, which seems very difficult to accomplish.

For example, if you're overweight, getting your body to be half of what it's right now will obviously feel like a hard nut to crack. Therefore, you need to change your perspective. You need to take one day at a time.

Set small, achievable, daily milestones for yourself rather than trying to conquer the world all at once! Remember:

“Little drops of water make the mighty ocean.”  -Julia Carney.

  1. Reevaluate Your Reasons

Ask yourself, “Why do I want to get healthy and fit?”

Do you want to shed weight because other people want you to do so, or is it because of your concern that being overweight will put you at the risk of developing serious diseases?

The more powerful your reasons are, the more motivated you'll be towards achieving your desired thing.

Reevaluate your reasons, and keep reminding yourself about them, every day! It will keep your spirits high and set you in motion.

  1. Be Optimistic

No matter how small your goal is, you won't achieve it if you don't have an optimistic approach towards it. Having the right (positive) mindset will pave the way to a healthy life. If you find it hard to be optimistic, read success stories of people who had the same aspirations as you and remind yourself that if they can do it, you can too! Remember:

“Think you can, and you're halfway there” -Theodore Roosevelt.
